[Football- England 'League One'] 27.4/ 20:00 Charlton- Crewe

No premier league games for me, first time since we started this POTD thing, so we wade in to unfamiliar waters - I had a look at the CL game tonight and wasn't convinced by any of it, Chelsea are rightful favourites on form in my eyes, but Madrid always seem to find a way when getting this far in the Champions League and results can be wildly unpredictable.

We look to the lower English leagues, and a decent bet appears to be over at Charlton who host Crewe, Charlton go in to this game with two games in hand over the rest of the league, sitting in 8th place, just outside of play-off spots, winning these two games in hand would see them leap-frog to 5th place (other teams in-between also have games in hand for full disclosure). However, if Charlton have hopes of returning to the Championship they will need to ensure these wins to be in with a chance, lucky for them a content Crewe Alexander team is who they play.

Sitting lower down in 15th place is Crewe, they have successfully avoided the theoretical drop and are now certain to play L1 football next season, with nothing else to play for it's entirely possible some youth may make an appearance, and that players fielded may be on a bit of a mental holiday, there form backs up this mandering personality, goign 2-1-2 in their last games, scoring 3 and conceding 9 (only beating teams near them in the table, who likely too are just having a bit of a kick-about)

Charlton on the other hand have gone 3-1-1 in their last 5, hopefully eager to prove their credentials after a 1-0 loss last time out to L1 title contenders Peterborough. Charlton have beaten Plymouth and Doncaster in those 3 wins, who sandwich Crewe in the table and may provide an insight as to how the game will play out.
