Looking at their recent form I’d give a slight slight edge to Putintseva she looked better in the first round in San Jose winning in straight sets while Tomljanović struggled against Anisimova. The Olympics are unclear as Yulia retired and Tomljanović faced someone who retired and then lost. It’s worth noting before the Olympics Putintseva won the tournament in Hungary.
