The new season of Basketball Champions League is about to begin and with which match if not the one involving the title holders. If you didn't know, San Pablo Burgos had a pretty successful last season and ended up by lifting the BCL trophy after they dominated the competition and finished it while losing only 1 match on their way to the trophy and what's most important, they didn't lose any game at home so they're are very solid team at home.( yea, smart ass, they lost only one match what you'd expect

On the other side, Besiktas is in total rebuild from the last season after losing their turkish young stars, Sehmus Hazer who went to Fener and Alperen Sengun, was selected by Houston in NBA, for this season they brought in some really interesting american players, if you'd look on their roster you might see familiar names like Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Jordan Bone, Josh Reaves, all these players are at their first experience in an european competition and let me tell you something, they're solid players but....The transition from NBA/NCAA game to Europe it's hugeeeee( yea, europeans really defend you and not every little touch is a foul and free throw) and it takes time for them to adapt to this new style of play and refereeing, also the tactical aspect that the european coaches are asking for is very different...or the might never adapt, who knows? All I know so far is that they're really struggling, if you take a look, they won only one friendly and lost all the other games including the first 2 official games, and the last one was a TOTAL BLOWOUT, Efes literally destroyed them at home, 55-101 for Efes while resting their MVP, Micic ... so you see, it's hard when the opponents actually play defense and not act like they do, they scored under 80 points in all their games except the one they won...also their bench seems very short and the turkish players from the squad are nothing impressive, they'd probably use a 6-7 man rotation in important games so it'll be hard for them to keep up.
