Motherwell are having a better season than expected in the Premiership and currently find themselves in 4th place. In the last week they have lost the division's top scorer in Tony Watt, who has jumped ship to Dundee United. However they still have decent options in attack, with Kevin Van Veen only a couple of goals behind him, and should enough to see off Morton today.
Morton have benefitted from a change in manager, taking 7 points from their last 3 in the Championship to move themselves from the bottom. They appear a team on the up. However, their two wins have come against Ayr and Dunfermline, two of the weakest sides in the second tier. I don't doubt they've made progress, but Motherwell is a step up in competition that I don't think they are ready for.
