Stephens has been in decent form this year with good showings in the majors with wins agains the likes of Kvitova, Muchova, and Pliskova but has yet to string together much of a real run into anything significant. These wins against marquee names are pretty significant even without the overall tournament results. Yastremska on the other hand is in horrendous form. She simply hasn’t played a lot of tennis this year and her only tournaments since her suspension ended haven’t gone well. To put it simply Yastremska hasn’t beaten a player ranked as high as Stephens is now since September 2020 and I don’t see her doing that here.
