British heavyweight prospect Daniel Dubois is making his US debut, fighting American Joe Cusumano.
Dubois is an extremely hard hitting heavyweight who looks to blast out opponents as soon as the first bell rings. Cusumano has been fed knockover jobs his entire career and has made more of a name for himself as a decent sparring partner.
Dubois should win this early, he has a quality jab, throws tremendous body shots and anytime he lands his overhand right, it’s pretty much game over. Cusumano has poor defence, slow hands and clunky footwork. Just two fights ago the American was knocked down and went on to lose on points to a 42 year old Steve Vokosa, so stepping up to fight Dubois who is levels above Vokosa will prove an impossible task.
Cusumano has been hand picked for Dubois to look good in the states, his slow movement will make it easy for Dubois to land and end it early. Dubois has unreal power and although he lost to Joe Joyce by taking a knee after damaging his eye, I still believe he’s one of, if not the best heavyweight prospect in the world. Dubois has ko’d 11 of his previous opponents within 2 rounds and I expect him to do the same to Cusumano tonight.
