[Football- England 'National League'] 31.8/ 20:45 Stockport - Grimsby
This season, Stockport County along with John Rooney (brother of the former Manchester United star)
is among the favorites for promotion. But in the first two games they only scored 3 points. The younger Rooney is the most recognizable and key player in "The Hatters". Like his older brother, he is a homegrown of Everton academy. At the senior level, he started at Macclesfield Town and later played for Barnsley, Bury, Chester, Wrexham, Guiseley, Barrow and now it's a second season at Stockport County. In the previous round, the 30-year-old scored a goal in his away win against Southend (1-0), as well as the inauguration of the season in a lost home game against Dag & Red (1: 3). Stockport are now without a win in five National League home games and have lost the last two games at Edgeley Park. Simon Rusek's side has not won a home win since beating Wealdstone 4-0 in early May.
Grimsby were relegated from League Two last season but have lost only four of the last 15 games.
The relegated club has only played one game so far (Weymouth home 1-0) and their ambition is to stay in the National League as short as possible. Despite the fact that Paul Hurts' side finished the previous season in League Two well, they had problems playing away from home (they only won five of their 23 away games).
The team from Stockport County lost just two games at Edgeley Park last season, but recorded the most draws at home (eleven of 21 games).
Both teams will be fighting at the top of the National League table and today the draw will not surprise anyone.
