Qualifying for the Superettan for the final season.
Skovde AIK had a great season which unexpectedly ended in 2nd place in the Division 1 - Sodra table. Coach Tobias Linderoth built a solid team that was the best in their league this fall. Promotion favorites Trollhattan and Oskarshamn were overtaken in the table, and the leader (direct promotion) Utsiktens was 3 points behind. The team's big star forward Viktor Granath was a big part of the host team's success (the 27-year-old scored 12 goals in the last eight games) and today he will probably scare the higher-ranked opponent. At home at IP Sodermalm, Skovde has not lost since May and is very strong (10-4-1 this season). Linderoth has the entire squad at its disposal.
Akropolis has a very solid team (with a quartet of solid midfielders Mauricio Albornoz, Panajotis Dimitriadis, Marcus Burman and Pontus Asbrink), but league matches are not won "on paper". The last play-off place at the end of the season is a big surprise in minus for this team. Forward Daniel Larsson will not attend today's meeting.
Akropolis has much more to lose and is likely to play under tremendous pressure. In turn, for Skovde, today's match is about creating a new history of the club and the players from the hosts will come out onto the pitch insanely motivated to play. As this is a tie-breaker, it is important for the hosts to win at home before the rematch. And they have a chance.
