[Boxing- UK] 12.2/ 23:00 D.Jacobs- J.Ryder

Former IBF and WBA Super Middleweight Champion Daniel "The Miracle Man" Brooks (-165) returns to the ring Saturday night for the first time since 2019 when he takes on "The Gorilla" John Ryder (+135) in London. Ryder will have the hometown advantage so the crowd will be firmly behind the Brit, but Jacobs has fought outside of the U.S. twice and is undefeated on foreign soil. Neither fighter is getting any younger (Jacobs is 35, Ryder is 33) but both fighters can put themselves back into title contention with a victory here.

Ryder has five losses with his most recent coming to Collum Smith in 2019 when he challenged for the WBA strap. Jacobs meanwhile has suffered only 3 defeats with just two coming since 2019. Those two losses came to two of the biggest names in boxing (Grenady "Triple G" Golovkin in 2017, and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in 2019). Both pugilists carry two-fight win streaks into the bout, but unless Jacobs managed to get old overnight, (which definitely does happen in boxing) he should still have enough left in the tank to coast to a win here. While age and the crowd won't be on his side, a slight height and reach advantage will.

I like Jacobs by decision or technical decision at +121, but he does possess edges in both speed and power so a late round stoppage is not out of the question. If you are feeling froggy, you can get him by KO at +400. Just keep in mind that six of Jacobs' last seven opponents have gone the distance and that Ryder has only been knocked out once in his career, which was seven years ago. If you want to play it safe, just take the American on the moneyline.
