In this fight you have a proven top level fighter in former world champion Guanini going up against a novice pro in Levy. This fight is a giant step up in competition for Levy. She is 5-0 but has only faced journeywomen prior to this fight. Her last opponent was 1-3 and she had problems against her. Nothing I’ve seen from Levy really impresses me and it’s shocking she was made favourite for this fight when the odds came out. Guanini is 9-4 and in her last 6 fights has been fighting at the highest level, where she even won a world title before losing it to the rangy Rachel Ball. Levy is just not at the level yet to be fighting someone like Guanini and I think her chin is seriously going to be tested in this fight as her defence is just so poor. Guanini normally fires off with hooks rather than using her jab and is used to being involved in dog fights. The Argentinian is also comfortable at fighting on both the back foot and front foot.
The key reasons in going for the Guanini win:
The opponents she’s faced before such as Scotney and Ball, she was competitive in both fights especially the Scotney one in which she only lost by a razor thin margin. If you view just the smallest bit of footage of Scotney and Ball you’ll be able to tell they’re a lot more skilled than Levy.
Levy has never fought out of Britain unlike Guanini who travels for pretty much every fight.
This fight is 8 rounds and Levy has only fought at 4 before whereas Guanini regularly fights 8-10 rounds.
Levy gets caught so much against journeywomen so I highly doubt Guanini has much trouble finding the target. I wouldn’t even be too surprised to see Guanini find an opening to win by stoppage at some point either.
This may come back to make me look stupid but the only way I see this losing is if they rob Guanini on the scorecards.
