North Macedonia drew 2 - 2 against Iceland in September, they were up two-nil and lost all the concentration, and conceded 2 late goals. Back then it was a huge blow for the nation and the team as everyone started to talk about how they missed possible 2nd place in the group. They lost to Germany as expected but took two big wins against Liechtenstein and Armenia and showed their potential.
Iceland is not the same team anymore that made them famous 5 years ago as they added more and more youngsters to the national team. They are slow on defense and leaving way too much open spaces for the opposite team. The only serious threat is standards where their physical gifts make them dangerous. Other than that they are a mediocre European team.
The same Iceland team who took the hope from North Macedonia in September restored it three days ago after they draw against Romania. Romania missed their huge opportunity and gifted it back to Macedonia. Now it's all back in North Macedonia's own hands. They have a better team, all the support from the nation and I expect them to deliver it and grab second place in Group J.
