Today, I’m taking what seems like a pretty simple bet on Over 2.5 Match Goals as PSG takes on Lorient. PSG is missing Mbappe, Neymar, and some other key personnel, but there’s just too much quality on PSG’s side and too little found amongst Lorient’s squad to not imagine this going over 2.5 goals. Gueye, Wijnaldum, Paredes, Messi, Icardi, and Di Maria are all slated to start (at least at the time of writing) and I’ve got confidence in that lineup to hit this bet. 7 of 10 of PSG’s last matches have exceeded 2.5 goals, and I can’t imagine this being different.

Additionally, we are all aware of the struggles Lorient have had this season. One item to consider prior to betting is that Lorient does have stronger form at home than away, but this is overwhelmed by the fact that PSG has been rock solid away, losing only once in their previous 17 away matches.

Outside of PSG’s fire-power, this bet is helped by the fact that in 7 of their last 10 matches, PSG has also conceded at least on goal. So, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if Lorient at home at least gets on the score sheet.
