Strasbourg has been one of the most surprising teams in Ligue 1 so far this season, sitting in seventh and well within striking distance of champions league football just a season after finishing fifteenth. Strasbourg are flying as of late, with four wins out of their last five games with all four wins coming by two goals or more. Talismanic striker Ludovic Ajorque has been their key man this season and is running red hot with five goals in his last six Ligue 1 appearances.
Clermont Foot have been struggling since their promotion from Ligue 2 last season, currently sitting in sixteenth, only one point out of the relegation zone. The biggest factor in my pick here is the absence of Mohamed Bayo. The 23-year-old Guinean striker has contributed to 11 of their 20 league goals so far this season and will be missing for this game as he is currently showcasing his skills for Guinea at the African cup of nations.
Clermont have struggled defensively all season and will struggle offensively without Bayo. Strasbourg are the hottest team in Ligue 1 right now and are seemingly scoring at will. Strasbourg -1.5 at +370 is a side bet for me on this one as well. So much value here!
