[Football- England 'Championship'] 26.1/ 21:00 West Brom- Preston
I don't believe Preston should be this big of an underdog. At +145, you only need to hit 41% to break even, so it's implying West Brom has a 59% chance of winning. That just seems a bit too high.
I've been quite impressed by Preston's play lately. Even though they only have 2D, 1L in their last 3, they won the 2 games before, for a solid 8 points in 5. And in their last 1-0 against Swansea, I thought they played solid. Their midfield created a healthy number of chances, especially in the box that the forwards just couldn't finish. That one goal was just an unstoppable missile from Charlie Austin. Few GK could've saved that. That game could've easily ended in a draw, or even a Preston win if their strikers had better finishing.
But the match before against Sheffield Utd was the one that sold me. Preston was down 0-2 and with only 10-men at HT and came back to claim a draw. In the 2nd half, Preston absorbed pressure extremely well and only got out-shot by 1. Both their goals were a combination of workrate, great passing, and great finishing.
Just realized this is getting too long, so I'll just say West Brom, despite being higher up the table, have struggled recently, picking up only 5 points in last 5. Their lone win was against the 3rd worst team and also only drew against the last place team.
